Here you will find some of the finest in organic and traditionally produced vegetables, grains, beef, poultry and bison. Grassroots and wonderful, community suppers are remarkably popular among locals in Athabasca Country. With menus of chicken, pancakes, spaghetti, roast beef, perogy or a host of other homemade treats, these mostly annual events bring together friends and neighbours for food and fellowship. Often held in conjunction with other events, pancake breakfasts are also popular here, and everyone is welcome. Check out the local paper for coming meals, or stop in to the Athabasca Seniors' Centre for their pancake breakfasts, held the last Tuesday of every month.Ukrainian Delicacies
Immigrants from the Ukraine have played an important role in the development of Athabasca Country. Ukrainian culture endures in Athabasca Country, most notably in the form of food, like prohy (perogy), borscht (beet soup) and holubsti (cabbage rolls).
